Reflections and Advice:
1.) What do you think makes your school unique relative to other boarding schools?
Kings Academy stands out because of its beautiful location in West Palm Beach and its strong Christian foundation, which creates a close-knit community. The Programs of Distinction in fields like Engineering, Law, and Pre-Med also make it unique, offering students the chance to dive deep into specialized subjects and prepare for a bright future.
2.) What was the best thing that happened to you in boarding school?
The best thing that happened to me during my time at Kings Academy was the opportunity to grow both academically and personally. I learned a lot about myself and developed a deeper sense of independence. The experience of being in a multicultural environment with students from all over the world was invaluable, and I gained a greater appreciation for different perspectives. I also grew spiritually, as the school places a strong emphasis on personal and spiritual development. This journey shaped who I am today and helped me build important life skills.
3.) What might you have done differently during your boarding school experience?
My advice would be to say yes to every opportunity and try everything. Whether its joining new activities, making friends with people from different backgrounds, or challenging yourself academically, these experiences will help you grow and make the most of your time at boarding school. Being open to everything will truly enhance your time abroad and allow you to discover things you never expected.
4.) What did you like most about your school?
What I liked most about my school was the endless opportunities it provided, whether academically, athletically, or socially. But equally important were the peoplethe students, teachers, coaches, and staff. Everyone was welcoming, supportive, and dedicated to helping each other succeed, which created a positive and motivating environment. Its the combination of these opportunities and the wonderful people that made my experience truly special.
5.) Do you have any final words of wisdom for visiting or incoming students to your school?
My advice would be to visit the International Student Office (ISP) often. The staff there are some of the best on campus, and theyre always helpful. Plus, they have the best snacks! Its a great place to connect with others and get support throughout your time at school. Make sure to stop by when you can!
Academics:
1.) Describe the academics at your school - what did you like most about it?
What I liked most about the academics at Kings Academy was the wide range of subjects offered. The school gives you the freedom to choose classes that align with your personal interests, whether thats in the sciences, humanities, or specialized programs like Engineering or Law. The teachers were challenging but also incredibly supportive, always available to help in both academic and personal aspects, which made learning feel both demanding and rewarding.
Athletics:
1.) Describe the athletics at your school - what did you like most about it?
Sports are a big part of life at Kings Academy, and the school has a very competitive athletics program. I was part of the JV Soccer team, Varsity Track & Field, and Varsity Spring Football, and what I liked most was how seriously everyone takes athletics. The coaches and administrators ensure that international students, like myself, have the same opportunities to compete and gain experience. Through sports, I not only improved my skills but also made many connections and friendships, which helped me feel more integrated into the school community.
Art, Music, and Theatre:
1.) Describe the arts program at your school - what did you like most about it?
Although I wasnt personally involved in the visual arts or music programs, I experience that the school places a strong emphasis on these areas. The Musical and Theatre Ensemble is considered one of the best in the country, and the school supports this field heavily, providing excellent facilities and opportunities for students passionate about the arts. Its clear that the school values creative expression and gives students the resources they need to do their best.
Extracurricular Opportunities:
1.) Describe the extracurriculars offered at your school - what did you like most about it?
Kings Academy offers a wide variety of extracurricular activities, but during my one year at the school, I was mainly involved in the Kings Investment Group. This group, which was founded by students, was a fantastic experience. It allowed me to work with like-minded peers, learn about investments, and contribute to managing funds from the school caf矇. Being part of this initiative gave me valuable skills and insights into finance, and I really enjoyed the sense of community it created.
.
Dorm Life:
1.) Describe the dorm life in your school - what did you like most about it?
Dorm life at Kings Academy offers two options. You can either live in dorm houses with 5-10 students, where you are supported by parents who are often former teachers of the school, or you can stay with a host family. Some of the host families are part of the school community or are families who are living close to the school and are interested in welcoming students into their homes. Both options create a family-like atmosphere, offering a great sense of support and community. I appreciated how this setup made the transition to school life smoother and provided a comfortable, homely environment.
Dining:
1.) Describe the dining arrangements at your school.
At Kings Academy, there is a large cafeteria with several food stations during lunch, offering a variety of dishes that change regularly. The selection is diverse, ensuring theres something for everyone, and the chefs prepare many dishes that are popular with young people. I really liked the variety and how the food was always tasty and satisfying. Additionally, lunch is included in the tuition, which makes it convenient.
Social and Town Life:
1.) Describe the school's town and surrounding area.
The area around Kings Academy is beautiful and diverse, with great weather year-round. The schools location offers the perfect balance between nature and city life. You can enjoy the beach in Palm Beach or explore CityPlace in West Palm Beach, which has plenty of shops and restaurants. The airport is just 10 minutes away, and both Miami and Orlando are easily accessible. I loved having so many options for activities and exploring the surrounding area.
2.) Describe the social life at your school - what did you like most about it?
The social life at Kings Academy is very welcoming and open. Everyone is interested in getting to know one another, and in my year, there were about 30 international students, which led to many cross-cultural friendships. The American students are also very open and inclusive. The teachers, who are all Christians, care not only about our academics but also about our personal well-being and spiritual growth. This supportive environment made it easy to build strong relationships and feel part of the school community.
